Illustrator

I work with scraperboard, creating detailed black & white designs (such is the nature of the medium) which I then colour digitally. I originally trained as an illustrator at The Cambridge School of Art in 2010, but now work mainly producing my designs onto products, ranging from greetings cards to furniture. I am hugely influenced by late 19th to early 20th century decorative arts including works by the likes of William Morris, Josef Frank and Walter Crane - I love working my designs into interiors and base most of my designs today for use as wallpaper, textiles & furnishings. My work tends to have a baseline of a traditional and almost formal Victorian style, but has a bit of a playful, vibrant and contemporary edge. Although I love exploring new trends and styles, it’s important to me for my work to maintain a sense of timelessness.

Specialisms:

Pattern for textile & wallpaper design, seasonal greetings cards & gift wrap print, book illustration.

Clients:

Museums & Galleries, Pigment Productions for Paperchase, Roy Kirkham for the RSPB, Isle of Man Post Office, Pattern Weights, The Art File, Bothy Threads, Whistlefish Galleries, Jaccart, Stringberry Phone Cases.
