Anyone who has criss-crossed France by motorway will have seen the big brown signs at the side of the road showing the regional attractions and specialities that you are passing.

In 2016, I was delighted to be commissioned by the APRR (Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône) to illustrate five of their signs. Each sign stands at 6m x 3m and for the next 20 years they will also serve as my roadside portfolio.

The APRR chose my black and white scraperboard style, which I then transformed into vector illustrations with a restricted colour palette.

In 2018, I was contacted again. This time the commission is for 16 signs - for one single stretch of motorway. Watch this space… or rather that space next time you drive along it.
