Chairman's Vision 

What me? A chairman? With a vision? Well, frankly, I wouldn’t have expected to find myself here, but that was before I met my fellow collaborators in Akin, and started to realise what an amazing depth and breadth of commercial creativity there is here in Arundel - and how much we all stand to gain from coming together, collectively.

So that, very briefly, is the vision - the exciting potential for brands and businesses from Akin's whole being greater than the sum of the parts. Individually, all of Akin’s members do exciting creative things, ranging from fine art to web development, architectural metalwork, jewellery and lighting to brand consultancy (a far from exhaustive list). Together, we are a force to be reckoned with; a hub, a network, a fellowship, a happy band of sisters and brothers - united by a belief in the value of creativity, both in terms of helping businesses gain an edge over their competitors and in making the world a better, brighter, more efficiently-run place.

Local matters to us, too. We're all well aware how lucky we are to live and work in this wonderful county of Sussex, and very keen indeed to make our skills and expertise available to others who share our extreme geographical good fortune. Why go shopping for creativity in London, or beyond, when everything you need is right here in your own backyard?

Finally, and more selfishly, there's the buzz we all get as Akin members from rubbing shoulders with each other - sharing ideas, striking sparks off each other. For me, that's turning out to be a really huge pleasure, as well as a source of inspiration.

So that's this chairman's vision. I have to say I'm normally a bit allergic to this kind of thing, but the unlimited creative potential of Akin and the lovely like-minded people who make up its membership, have completely won me over. I hope Akin will have the same effect on you.
